Hot Diggity Dog!!!
We went to a barbeque Sunday night and brought hot dogs:
So, I took the lid of an aluminum catering pan and marked off two inch strips:
I saw that there was a cookie cutter for these hot dogs and I really wanted to make them! But of course, I didn't have the cookie cutter. So, I googled how to make your own cookie cutter and came up with quite a few inventive ways to do it! This is what I did:
I wanted my cookie cutter to look like this:
So, I took the lid of an aluminum catering pan and marked off two inch strips:
I folded the top and the bottom to the middle, and then folded it straight down the middle:
I then worked on shaping the cutter:
And this is what I came up with:
The cookies were a little big, but they were cute!! I also mixed a lot of orange, brown and red together to get that perfect hot dog color.
Ladybugs Galore!!
I was asked to make cookie favors for a one year old's birthday. So, I made almost 50 pink ladybug cookie favors:
Aren't they cute???
The ladybugs I made for the dinner were just made using a circle cookie cutter. But when I was making the favors, I wanted the shape to have a body and a head. Since I didn't have a cookie cutter in the shape of a ladybug, I had to design my own. This is how I did it:
First, I used two cookie cutters - a large circle and a smaller circle:
Since I had SO much fun making these ladybugs, I made some more for a dinner that I had to go to:
And this is what you get when you run out of black icing but you have leftover dough:
Aren't they cute???

Using the smaller circle, I cut out a small piece of the larger circle:
I then put the two circles together, forming the ladybug!

Farewell, Friends
Friends of ours will be moving in ten days. They had an open house today to say farewell. So, I made house cookies for them. We will miss them dearly!!
More Flowers
I made about six dozen flowers this weekend to give as a gift to someone and for a fundraiser that I participated in for the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund for Japan.
